The Pop Up Shop is by appointment only. Call 847-878-2619 to make an appointment. We will practice all suggested COVID-19 guidelines. All customers must wear a mask so we can continue events. Customers will be given a timeframe to attend and shop to limit the number of visitors inside the storage area at a time. Check-out will be outside. Bring your own truck and friends for pick-up. All sales are final. Tax not included. Credit or Debit cards only.

About The Shop
“Changing Lives” Upscale Resale Shop (CLURS) has a wide variety of merchandise such as: professional, formal and casual clothing for the entire family, business and home furniture, home décor, shoes, bath accessories, bedding, window coverings, artwork, books, toys, jewelry and more.
Most of our merchandise is gently used, but some items are donated directly from department stores. Our Shop occasionally carries designer and brand name clothing and accessories. Our gently used furniture ranges from vintage to high-end pieces, such as bedroom dressers and chests, end and side tables, living room sets, dinette sets, desks, bookcases, display cases, and children’s furniture.
Occasionally our antique and collectable merchandise include furniture, wedding gowns, toys, cameras and more. You may find a great deal!
- Drop-off availability: We are happy to take your donations during regular shop hours. Small items can be dropped off anytime during regular hours. Large furniture donation drop-offs - by appointment only. A tax exempt letter will be provided for all donations.
- Pick-up availability: Pick-up for furniture donations only, by appointment
- What we take: Gently used clothing, shoes, accessories, purses, office and residential furniture, home décor, books, small appliances & toys. We ask that items are brought in a box or a bin. We cannot accept items that are in black trash bags
- Items not accepted: The Shop does not allow the following items under any circumstance: hazardous or combustible material, pornography, alcoholic beverages, firearms, large appliances, power tools or electronics. The Shop will not accept clothing or furniture that is unclean, torn, broken, missing pieces, and unusable small appliances.
We are looking for volunteers to help in the resale shop. Assignments include: Volunteers will assist customers; ring sales in cash register; sort, stock, price, tag, organize and hang merchandise on racks and shelves; and/or assist with packing seasonal items for storage area. The CAP “Changing Lives” Upscale Resale Shop opened in November 2013. “Changing Lives” Upscale Resale Shop (CLURS) is a social enterprise of the Community Action Partnership of Lake County. For over 55 years, Community Action Partnership of Lake County (CAPOLC), a nonprofit organization, has administered: Energy Assistance: Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Weatherization, Youth and Family Services (Youth Prevention Services, Emergency Assistance and Food Pantry), Affordable Housing programs
The CAPOLC social enterprises provide job opportunities and income enabling the Agency to be more innovative in our service approach. Profit for the social enterprises provide much needed funding to support services assisting low income working families.CLURS works with townships, social service agencies and other nonprofit organizations to provide business clothing at a reasonable cost for job seekers and more. Shopping/donating at the CAP “Changing Lives” Upscale Resale Shop supports low income individuals and families in Lake County.
